Refund & Cancellation Policy
How to cancel, how the 14-day free trial works, and how to get your money back. Last updated September 3, 2026.
We sell no physical goods
Epioneum LLP sells one thing: a subscription to the Epioneum iPhone app. Nothing is shipped, nothing is posted, and there is nothing to send back. So there are no delivery charges, no return postage and no restocking fees anywhere in this policy. The rest of this page is about cancelling a subscription and getting a payment refunded.
Who takes your money
Apple is the merchant of record for every Epioneum subscription. You buy inside the app, the charge goes to your Apple Account, and it appears on your statement as an Apple charge rather than one from us. Epioneum LLP publishes the app and sets the price; we never see, handle, or store your card details, and we cannot charge or refund your card ourselves.
That matters for refunds in one practical way: Apple’s own route is the fastest and the most reliable, because Apple is the party holding the payment. We are not sending you away. We can and do argue your case with them, but the refund itself is theirs to issue.
The 14-day free trial
- Every subscription starts with a 14-day free trial carrying every feature of the app. Nothing is held back during it.
- Cancel any time before the trial ends and you pay nothing. No charge is taken, and there is nothing to refund because there was never a payment.
- If you do not cancel, the subscription you chose begins automatically when the trial ends, at the price shown on the Pricing page. Apple emails you a receipt.
- The trial is available once per Apple Account per subscription group, which is Apple’s rule rather than ours.
How to cancel
Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not, by itself, refund a payment already taken — for that, see the next section.
- Open Settings on your iPhone and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Epioneum.
- Tap Cancel Subscription, and confirm.
You can also cancel from Apple’s subscription page. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or Apple may already have taken the next payment. After cancelling you keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for — we do not cut you off early for cancelling.
How to request a refund
Refunds for App Store purchases are requested from Apple and decided by Apple under their published terms:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account that made the purchase.
- Choose Request a refund, pick the reason that fits, then select the Epioneum charge.
- Submit. Apple normally decides within 48 hours and emails you the outcome.
Where Apple approves a refund, it goes back to your original payment method. How long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer: commonly a few business days, and up to around 30 days for some methods. That timing is set by your bank, not by Apple and not by us.
If Apple says no and you think that is wrong
Write to support@epioneum.com with the date of the charge, the Apple Account email you bought with, and what went wrong. We usually reply within two business days. We cannot overturn Apple’s decision, because nobody outside Apple can, but we will raise it with them and support your case, and if the fault was ours we will say so.
If something in the app is broken, please tell us either way, whether or not you want your money back. We would rather hear about it and fix it.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy takes away rights you have by law. Consumers in the United Kingdom and the European Union have rights in relation to digital content, including a cancellation right for distance contracts and a right to a remedy where digital content is not as described, not of satisfactory quality, or not fit for purpose. Consumers elsewhere have whatever equivalent rights their local law provides.
Because Apple is the seller, statutory claims about the purchase are generally made to Apple, under the terms you accepted when you bought. If you are not sure where to direct a claim, write to us and we will point you to the right place.
What happens to your data
Cancelling a subscription does not delete anything. Your diary stays on your device, and you can export it as JSON or erase it completely from Settings → Privacy & data inside the app. It works the other way too: erasing your app data does not cancel your subscription, and neither does deleting the app. Only cancelling stops the billing. See the Privacy Policy for what we hold and for how long.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. The policy in force when you bought is the one that applies to that purchase. Questions about this policy: legal@epioneum.com.
