Privacy Policy
What the epiMind iPhone app does with your diary, check-ins and practice history. Last updated October 2, 2026.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for epiMind is Epioneum LLP, registered in England and Wales, registered office Stoney Works, 8 Stoney Lane, London, SE19 3BD, United Kingdom. Because epiMind keeps your records on your device, we do not hold a copy of them.
Write to privacy@epioneum.com to ask anything about this policy or about support correspondence we hold. If you are in the United Kingdom you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office; if you are in the European Economic Area, to your national supervisory authority.
What stays on your device
Your preferences, onboarding answers, mood entries, journal and thought records, questionnaire responses and practice history are stored in the app’s local storage. epiMind uses this information on your device to show your records and personalise the app. There is no epiMind account or cloud-sync service. The app does not request your location, contacts, photos, microphone or HealthKit records.
Device security and the optional lock
Saved record files use iOS data protection. An optional app passcode is verified using protected Keychain data. If you enable biometric unlocking, iOS performs the Face ID or Touch ID check and returns its result; epiMind does not receive or store your face or fingerprint template. Keep your device passcode and software up to date. The app lock does not encrypt copies you export.
Exports and backups you choose
Exporting text or saving a backup creates a copy of your records. These copies are readable files, without an extra password or encryption applied by epiMind. They can leave your device when you share them or save them to iCloud Drive or another service. Choose a trusted destination. That destination’s privacy and security terms apply. epiMind cannot recall a shared copy or delete it from another app or service.
Apple device backups
Depending on your iOS and computer settings, Apple device backups may include epiMind data. Their storage and protection are controlled by Apple and your settings, not by epiMind. Deleting records in epiMind does not remove an older device backup or an exported copy.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone after you allow notifications. They are not sent from an epiMind server. You can disable them in the app or in iOS Settings. iOS controls where notification previews appear.
Links, calls and messages
Opening a research source, audio credit, privacy page or helpline website uses an external browser. Calling or texting a helpline uses your phone or messaging service. Sharing records uses your chosen app or file provider. These services may process information under their own policies. epiMind does not send your diary or questionnaire responses to a helpline automatically.
Keeping and deleting your records
Records remain in the app until you delete them. Settings → Your data → Erase everything removes the records and preferences held by epiMind, clears its lock and cancels its scheduled reminders. This cannot remove files you exported, messages you sent or copies already included in device backups. Delete those separately using the relevant app or service. We have no server copy of your diary to recover or erase.
Contacting support
If you email support, your email address and the contents you choose to send are received through email services so we can reply. Do not send a diary export, passcode or sensitive health information to report a routine app problem. You can ask about or request deletion of support correspondence using the contact address below. Support email is not a crisis service.
Changes to this policy
This policy describes the current app. If its handling of information changes, the policy and its update date will be revised. Review the published privacy policy associated with the version you use.
